         空服員是出國的時候第一個也是最後一個和我們接觸的職業，和遊客們旅行品質關係最密切。空服員的英文flight attendant，是班機(flight)加上照護員(attendant)組成的，而attendant又是照護這個動詞(attend)加上字尾”~者”(-ant)構成。

到了英國，第一群和我們打照面的，當然就是大多屬於新教(英國國教)教徒的當地居民，新教徒是抗議舊教的人，所以叫做protestant(抗議protest加上ant)，而居民是inhabitant(居住inhabit加上ant)。在我們學習英語的語言學校，隨時有顧問協助我們處理課務和住宿的問題，顧問是我們徵詢的對象，所以英文單字是consultant(徵詢consult加上ant)。

         在英語單字中，許多動詞加上-ant字尾之後成為執行這個動詞的名詞。同樣的例子還有申請人(applicant)、會計師(accountant)、助理(assistant)、參與者(participant)、法庭上的被告(defendant)、僕人(servant)

、驅蟲劑 (repellant)等等。

        最後還是造個句子把這些單字串聯起來複習一下吧。
